Purchasing Manager
Perfect Binder Operator

Purchasing Manager

Reporting to the Production Director, the Purchasing Manager has a pivitol role in ensuring the production process is supplied with the correct materials and services, at the correct time. Liasing closely with the Finance Director on key supplier contracts, you will seek out the best value for the business through negotiation and benchmarking supplier pricing. As a key gatekeeper, you must ensure that purchases are supported by properly authorised purchase orders. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that materials and services are ordered on a timely basis
  • Planning required purchases through an understanding of demand pull and stock management whilst also factoring in specific customer/order demands
  • Maintain actual/committed spend records to assist department managers in controlling their spend
  • Minimising stock holding to contribute to effective working capital management for the business
  • Contribute to a continuous drive for cost reduction through benchmarking, spot negotiations and longer term price setting with regular suppliers, liaising with the Finance Director where appropriate.
  • Liaise with other leaders in the business to make recommendations and support negotiations with suppliers in their departments

Requirements

  • Part qualified CIPS (or equivalent) professional
  • Commercial acumen and ability to work across functions to ensure best value is always sought for the business
  • Well organised and able to plan effectively
  • Applies rigour around Purchase Order process
  • Ability learn new systems quickly
  • This is an office based role, working Monday to Friday

Perfect Binder Operator

We're currently recruiting for an experienced, full time, Perfect Binder Operator to join our busy team. Our extensive Finishing Department, which is one of the most well equipped of any printer in the South of England, runs a state of the art Kolbus KM 610.C 16-station perfect binder, and for short-run work, a Horizon BQ-500 iCE perfect binder. We can produce 5.4 million perfect bound magazines, catalogues, programmes and books, including football programmes for clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea. These high quality publications require a combination of speed, accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Operating bindery machinery and equipment in a warehouse setting
